Phayao [pa-yao] is a small, lovely, and peaceful town on the lake’s edge. It’s far from Chiang Mai, 150 kilometers away. Basically, we can drive non-stop for 2:30 hours and transfer to Phayao.
The city was quiet and calm. The people are extremely welcoming, and the scenery is breathtaking. Those are well worth a visit instead of just passing through. Spending time and living a slow life here is something I highly recommend.
ENROUTE ATTRACTIONS
There are new restaurants on the major highway number 118 from Chiang Mai. Along the way, you might find a nice spot to relax and enjoy your meal, and we’ll arrange some of your favorite attractions for you to see.
We usually take this route to extend our Chiang Rai excursion. On the roadside, there are a few spots you might enjoy.
