The Northern loop features Lampang, Phayao and Chiang Rai providing travelers with a somewhat different experience.
This exciting new tour route which is close to Chiang Mai and offers a wide variety of great attractions, though it is unknown to most tourists.
Where do we start
This route start from Chiang Mai and return. Should you arrive in Lampang by flight, it’s possible to adjust planner and hit the road from there.
Lampang Airport has 2 airlines available. Bangkok Airways fly from Suvarnabhumi in the morning and Nok Air from Don Mueang in the afternoon. I will pick you up at the airport.

Highlights in Lampang
Lampang has 3-4 major attractions, but 1 of them Wat Chaleom Phra Kiat is my favorite temple. The temple has many names and these stupas building over such an incredible terrain.
Highlights in Phayao
Phayao is a quiet province in agricultural society. There is a large freshwater lake and mountains surrounding. There are many unknown places to explore. I though this one of the provinces in Thailand that walkable city.
Highlights in Chiang Rai
Of course, Chiang Rai has as many tourist attractions as Chiang Mai. Although each location has a distancing and complicate to arranging in a day. I like what a different from others. The exciting boat ride along Kok River to the Karen village and Mekong River crosses to Laos which tourists less to know. We had option to extend a long route.
Highlights in Chiang Dao
We will go to a hidden village nearby Chiang Dao foothill and escape to the jungle. That is the best area to trekking. We’ll cross the creek to swimming at waterfall, have a picnic lunch and relax there.
